Hi, I’m James.
I’m a clean energy enthusiast based in Stoke Newington, North London, and the voice behind The Green Fueler.
My journey into the world of biofuels and renewable energy started, like many good things do, with curiosity and a bit of stubbornness. I wanted to understand what it actually takes to move away from fossil fuels – not in some distant, abstract future, but right now, with the technology and resources we already have.
This blog is my attempt to make sense of the UK’s clean energy shift. From the chemistry of biodiesel to the politics of Clean Air Zones, from hydrogen hubs in Teesside to community wind farms in Cumbria, I’m fascinated by how we’re rewiring our energy system – one policy, one innovation, and one litre of recycled cooking oil at a time.
I’m not a scientist or an engineer by trade. I’m just someone who believes that understanding how our energy works is the first step to making it work better. If I can explain it in plain English (with the occasional bad analogy), then hopefully it helps others feel less overwhelmed by the jargon and more empowered to be part of the solution.
When I’m not writing about renewable diesel or obsessing over fuel standards, you’ll probably find me wandering around Clissold Park or hunting for the best flat white in N16.
Thanks for reading. If you’ve got questions, ideas, or just want to chat about the future of fuel, drop me a message.
Keep it clean, keep it green.
James
